Background

Makassar City is facing increasingly concerning issues related to the safety of minors, such as cases of child abduction, gang violence among children, and underage promiscuity. In response, the city government has initiated a campaign for child protection through various government programs. The ICT Department sees technology as a means to assist in monitoring schoolchildren's movements when using public transportation.

Goals

SiKuning App is expected to help monitor children's journeys to and from school in real-time, thereby reducing the risks associated with their safety.

"Parental supervision of children using school buses is hindered by reporting factors and underutilization of resources."

Problem

1. Slow reporting prevents parents from effectively supervising their children. Therefore, it is essential to implement technology that allows children to track school buses and inform parents directly on their smartphones about their status and information while on the bus. 2. There needs to be an implementation of integrated reporting technology into all Dishub personnel devices, such as drivers and administrative staff, to support improved reporting.
